I was lucky enough to get in some golf at the Wailea Blue course recently. It was a gorgeous Maui day. There was just enough wind to get our attention on most shots and it kept us cool on an otherwise warm day. The course has been reconfigured to conform to the location of the new clubhouse. The club house and pro shop have been moved to Wailea Ike Drive just up from the Shops.
The Blue is still beautiful and the changes haven’t had too much impact. The old #6 hole is now #1. The course is now a par 71 as a result of #10 changing from a par four to a par three. However, those wonderful wide fairways and interesting greens are still there.
There are many holes on the Blue that offer spectacular ocean and island views. You can see Kahoolawe and Molokini from a number of spots on the course and several holes have west Maui and ocean views. All in all, not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
Speaking of Golfing on Maui, Wailea Realty is sponsoring a Celebrity Golf Classics. Click this link for more information on this Celebrity Golf Classic and other Epic Events happening on Maui this June.
